CHURCH CAMP Youth Fundraisers
The youth group is filled with young men and ladies who are excited about their faith and learning more about God. They are young people who attend worship, Sunday school, volunteer in many ways in the community and are an active vital part of Redlands United Methodist Church. Some of the youth who attend youth group don’t attend church or Sunday School but are looking for something bigger and better than they are….they are finding it at MYF. Part of MYF is fundraising for many different things. We raise money for spiritual trips, mission work and our adopted friend from Uganda. We do take a weekly offering but that is just not enough. Throughout the year we will be participating in various fundraisers. We will be raising money both inside and outside the church.
Used Cell Phone Collection and Fundraiser: This fundraiser has nothing for you to buy or sell to participate. We simply ask that you donate your extra inactive cell phones to our drive. 100% of the proceeds will go to our youth group. This phone drive benefits your family, our youth group, and the environment by keeping the harmful materials the phones contain out of our landfills. Bring your old cell phones with their batteries to church and place them in the special bags/boxes you will see around. Don’t forget to gather phones from your family, friends and co-workers. Every phone helps. No chargers or accessories necessary. The phones are used for 911 needs in the United States, provide an inexpensive alternative for those in need of cell phones, are redeployed nationwide, and are used in developing countries to improve quality of life through better communication. Kanyesigye Nicholas is a young man from Uganda that the youth group has decided to adopt. He is 17 years old. The youth who participated in Youth 2011 decided that we should adopt him so we could help make a difference. We pay Compassion International $38 a month to help with his needs. The youth take an offering each Sunday evening to pay this bill. We are so excited about Nicholas! We will be writing letters and praying for him.
